You know those little kids that when you ask them, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” they stand there and list off about 15 different things, ranging from astronaut to CPA?
Ok, maybe a kid wouldn’t say “CPA” but you get my gist… They want to be anything and everything.
Well, I was one of those kids. I wanted to be a doctor, a vet, a teacher, a secretary (yes, that was actually on my list), a dolphin trainer, and the list goes on… and on… and on…
I’m still busy working on my Kraków (Chunk 2- Food!) post and I hope to have it up by tomorrow afternoon. (In case you missed it, here’s a link to my first post about Kraków)
In the mean time, I figured I’d go ahead and make another, quick, photo post!
As I contemplate what posts to write in the future, I look back at my pictures for inspiration. These are some that I’m not sure will ever make it into a post of their own. Continue reading
It’s possible that Krakow has become my favorite city–not just in Europe, but anywhere. Out of all of the places I’ve visited, I’ve never left saying , “I will go back to that city one day.”
But believe me when I say– I will go back to Krakow. I would dare say I miss Krakow… and I was only there for five days!
And by “Insta-new” I mean “new to Instagram.”
I just recently stumbled on an Instagram account that I made years and years ago, when I was in grad school. Seeing as everyone I know has Instagram, I decided to go ahead and give it a whirl!
And, you know what? I like it! But, I do have one complaint… Continue reading
It’s been rough lately, hasn’t it? It seems like it’s virtually impossible to turn on the TV or computer and NOT be bombarded with a constant influx of “politics-talk.”
I get it, I really do. This is an important time—not just for the US but for the entire world. It’s good that we have these outlets to discuss, debate, and exchange ideas. The sad thing is, though, that it’s rarely just that. More often than not it’s arguing, insulting, and just down-right mean, personal attacks.
So, just to change things up a bit, I’ve decided to write a post about America and Americans that is not politically charged.
Gasp! Can people still do that?
Why, yes, I think we can! Continue reading
In preparation for my upcoming group of posts about our recent trip to Poland, I wanted to go ahead and share some of my pictures from the trip.
It’ll probably be a few days before I’m able to finish my first post about Kraków, but I simply can’t contain myself. This trip was probably my favorite of all the trips I’ve taken with my hubby.
And, mind you, it’s rivaling our Christmas honeymoon to Prague, Vienna, and Budapest… So, that’s saying something. Continue reading
It’s Sunday afternoon, and a somewhat productive weekend is coming to an end. I’ve focused more this weekend on redirecting my efforts and free-time towards my blog and my own writing. And now, moving forward, I hope to keep up that momentum.
Located in the south-western region known as Extremadura, Cáceres is a truly hidden gem of Spain. With thousands of years of history, and some of the best cuisine in the peninsula, the city has something for everyone! Continue reading
One thing I’ve struggled with recently is balance. Primarily, with balancing my time.
I’ve been working as a freelance writer. It’s been great. It’s been fun and it’s been extremely rewarding.
One of the drawbacks of this has been, for me, that my time and energy have been going completely towards my projects. I haven’ been able to focus so much on my own work–my own dream.
I haven’ been able to blog. I haven’t even been able to finish my own stories.
It’s frustrating. It’s extremely frustrating. Continue reading
So, this blog is my travel blog… I know that. And I do have TONS of fun, travel related (and Spain related) things to share. But, I’ve been pretty absent lately–sorry!
The reason for that is simple. In my About Me page, I mentioned the other blog I share with my mom. It’s a fun adventure that we’re sharing into the world of writing and publishing.
So, even though I have lots of posts to share about my adventures through Spain, I’ve been very busy lately working on something related to that other side of my blogging life.
All of that being said, if you’re interested in what crazy things my mom and I have been working on lately, check out our most recent post HERE. It gives a little information about the book (really collection of short stories) we’re busy with at the moment.
And I promise, once all of that is done, I will be back to continue talking about this wonderful country that I’ve fallen completely in love with.
